You can connect your WunderTrading account to Claude (by Anthropic) or ChatGPT (by OpenAI) and manage your trading by chatting in plain language: ask how your strategies are doing, export your history, or open and close trades.
This guide shows you, click by click, how to add WunderTrading to each app. It is written for complete beginners, so every step says exactly where to click and what you should see next. The whole setup takes about 5 minutes and needs no coding.
Good to know: In Claude this is called a Connector. In ChatGPT it is called a Plugin. Both mean the same thing: a secure link between the AI app and your WunderTrading account. You only set it up once.
Before you start
Have these ready:
A WunderTrading account, and you are logged in to it. This is the first step for both Claude and ChatGPT. See First step below.
A Claude account (claude.ai) or a ChatGPT account (chatgpt.com). You can use the website in your browser or the desktop app; the steps are the same.
The WunderTrading server address. You will paste it in one of the steps. Copy it exactly, including
/mcpat the end:
https://mcp.wundertrading.com/mcp
How to copy it: press and hold the left mouse button at the start of the address, drag to the end so the whole address is highlighted, then press Ctrl + C (Windows) or Cmd + C (Mac). Later, to paste it, click inside the box and press Ctrl + V (Windows) or Cmd + V (Mac).
Plan requirements:
Claude: custom connectors work on all plans (Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise). On the Free plan you can add only one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise plans, only the organisation's Owner can add a new connector (see the note in Part 1).
ChatGPT: adding your own plugin depends on your ChatGPT plan and, for company accounts, on your workspace settings. If you don't see the Add custom MCP server option in Part 2, your plan or workspace doesn't allow it yet.
First step (for both Claude and ChatGPT): register and log in to WunderTrading
Do this before anything else. The connection only works if you already have a WunderTrading account and are logged in to it. If you skip this, the setup in Part 1 or Part 2 can't link to your account.
If you don't have a WunderTrading account yet: register
Open wundertrading.com/en/register in your browser.
Fill in the registration form and follow the instructions on the screen. If WunderTrading sends you a confirmation email, open it and confirm your email address.
Log in to WunderTrading
Enter your email and password, and your 2FA code if you use two-factor authentication.
Wait until your WunderTrading dashboard opens. That means you are logged in.
Important: stay logged in. Don't close this browser, and don't log out. Do the next part (Claude or ChatGPT) in the same browser. If you use the Claude desktop app, log in to WunderTrading in your computer's default browser, because that is where the WunderTrading sign-in window will open.
Part 1: Connect WunderTrading to Claude
Step 1. Open Claude
Open claude.ai in your browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox), or open the Claude desktop app on your computer. Sign in to your Claude account if you are asked to.
What you should see: the Claude home screen, with a large message box in the middle where you normally type your questions.
Step 2. Open the Connectors page
Look at the bottom-left corner of the message box. Click the + (plus) button there.
A small menu opens. Move your mouse over Connectors.
Click Manage connectors.
What you should see: the Connectors page, which lists the connectors you already have (it may be empty). You can also reach this page any time through Customize → Connectors.
Step 3. Start adding a custom connector
On the Connectors page, click the + Add button.
In the menu that opens, click Add custom connector.
What you should see: a window titled Add custom connector with two empty boxes.
Step 4. Enter the name and the server address
Click the first box (the one marked "Shown in the connectors list" underneath) and type: WunderTrading
Click the second box (the one marked "The HTTPS address where the server accepts MCP requests" underneath) and paste the server address: https://mcp.wundertrading.com/mcp
Check that the address is exactly right, with no spaces before or after it.
Click the white Continue button in the bottom-right corner.
Step 5. Check the sign-in settings
The window now shows WunderTrading and the address at the top, and a few settings below. Claude detects the right settings automatically. They are marked with a grey Detected label. You don't need to change anything. Just check that:
Under Authentication, Sign in now is selected (it has a filled circle and the Detected label).
Under OAuth client, Use Claude's published identity is selected (also marked Detected).
Under Request headers, leave it empty. Don't click "Add header". WunderTrading doesn't need any extra headers here.
Leave the Advanced section closed.
Scroll down to the bottom of the window (turn your mouse wheel, or swipe with two fingers on a laptop touchpad) and click Add.
Step 6. Sign in to WunderTrading and allow access
A new browser tab or window opens with WunderTrading. If it doesn't open, go back to the Connectors page and click Connect next to WunderTrading.
Because you logged in to WunderTrading in the First step, you will usually go straight to the access request. If WunderTrading asks you to sign in again, enter your email and password (and your 2FA code, if you use one).
WunderTrading asks you to confirm that Claude may access your account. Read the request and click the button to allow it.
The window closes and you return to Claude.
What you should see: WunderTrading now appears in your list of connectors, shown as connected.
Using Claude on a Team or Enterprise plan? Only your organisation's Owner can add a new connector. The Owner adds it once under Organization settings → Connectors: they click Add, hover over Custom, select Web, then follow Steps 4 and 5 above. After that, each member opens Customize → Connectors, finds WunderTrading (usually with a Custom label) and clicks Connect to sign in with their own WunderTrading account (Step 6).
Step 7. Turn the connector on in a chat
Start a new chat.
Click the + button in the bottom-left corner of the message box.
Move your mouse over Connectors.
Find WunderTrading and switch its toggle on (the switch slides to the right and changes colour).
Now type a simple first request to test it, for example: "Using WunderTrading, show me my connected exchange accounts."
Before Claude uses a WunderTrading tool, it may ask your permission. Read what it is about to do, then click to allow it.
Part 2: Connect WunderTrading to ChatGPT
Step 1. Open ChatGPT
Open chatgpt.com in your browser and sign in to your ChatGPT account. We recommend doing this setup on the ChatGPT website.
Step 2. Open the Plugins page
Click Plugins in the menu on the left side of the screen. You can also go straight there by typing chatgpt.com/plugins into your browser's address bar (the long box at the very top of the browser window) and pressing Enter.
What you should see: the Plugins page, with a directory of available plugins.
Step 3. Start adding a custom MCP server
Click the + (plus) button on the Plugins page.
In the menu that opens, click Add custom MCP server.
What you should see: a window titled Add custom MCP server.
If you don't see Add custom MCP server, your ChatGPT plan or your company workspace doesn't allow custom plugins. On a company (Business or Enterprise) account, ask your workspace admin.
Step 4. Fill in the form
Go through the window from top to bottom:
Icon (optional): skip it.
Name: click the box and type WunderTrading
Description (optional): you can leave it empty, or type something like "My WunderTrading trading account".
Connection: make sure the Server URL tab on the right is selected (it looks highlighted). Don't choose Tunnel. Click the box below it and paste the server address: https://mcp.wundertrading.com/mcp
Authentication: this should show OAuth. If it shows something else, click the box and select OAuth.
Advanced OAuth settings: don't open or change this. ChatGPT fills it in automatically.
Read the orange Custom MCP servers introduce risk notice. Then click the small square next to I understand and want to continue so a tick mark appears in it.
Click the black Create as a plugin button in the bottom-right corner.
What you should see: ChatGPT connects to WunderTrading and shows the list of WunderTrading tools it found. Your new WunderTrading plugin is now saved in your personal plugins.
Step 5. Install the plugin and sign in to WunderTrading
Open your personal plugins: on the Plugins page, open the list of your plugins (or go to chatgpt.com/plugins?view=personal).
Click the WunderTrading plugin to open it.
Click the + (plus) button on the plugin's page to install it.
A WunderTrading window opens. Because you logged in during the First step, you will usually go straight to the access request. If WunderTrading asks you to sign in again, enter your email and password (and your 2FA code, if you use one). Then allow ChatGPT to access your account.
The window closes and you return to ChatGPT.
Step 6. Use WunderTrading in a chat
Start a new chat.
In the message box, type the @ symbol.
A list of your plugins appears. Click WunderTrading.
Type your request after it, for example: "show me my connected exchange accounts", and press Enter.
When ChatGPT wants to do something that changes your account (for example, open or close a trade), it asks you to confirm first. Always read the details (pair, size, direction) before you approve.
Stay safe: this can trade with real money
Once connected, the AI assistant can do the same things you can do in WunderTrading, including opening, editing and closing trades on your real exchange accounts. Follow these simple habits:
Practice on a demo account first. Use a WunderTrading demo (paper trading) account until you are comfortable. See the Demo Trading Guide.
Name the account in your request. For example: "On my demo account, open a long on ETHUSDT for 50 USDT."
Read every confirmation before you approve it: the exchange, the pair, the amount and the direction (long or short).
Give the assistant standing safety rules. Our article Connect your AI assistant to WunderTrading (MCP) has a ready-made instruction block you can paste into Claude or ChatGPT so it always confirms before trading. That article also explains the rate limits.
Some actions depend on your WunderTrading plan. If the assistant reports a message like "available on higher plan", that feature isn't included in your current WunderTrading subscription.
What you can ask
You type… | What happens | Changes your account? |
"Show my connected exchange accounts and balances." | Lists your API profiles and balances. | No |
"Which of my strategies are running right now?" | Lists your live strategies with status and profit/loss. | No |
"Export my strategy history for the last 3 months." | Creates a file with your strategy history. | No |
"Open a long on ETHUSDT on my demo account for 50 USDT, take profit 3%." | Repeats the plan, asks you to confirm, then places it. | Yes, confirm first |
"Close my ETH strategy at market." | Confirms which strategy, then closes it. | Yes, confirm first |
Troubleshooting
Problem | What to do |

Error when I click Continue or Create. | Check the server address. It must be exactly https://mcp.wundertrading.com/mcp, with |
WunderTrading asks me to log in, or the connection fails. | Make sure you completed the First step: you have a WunderTrading account and are logged in, in the same browser. Then try connecting again. |

The assistant says it can't see WunderTrading. | Claude: turn the connector on for this chat (Part 1, Step 7). ChatGPT: type @ and select WunderTrading (Part 2, Step 6). |
I want to disconnect. | Claude: Customize → Connectors, click the three dots next to WunderTrading, then Remove. ChatGPT: open your personal plugins, open WunderTrading and uninstall it. |
